Johnny Lucero Duarte, 80

Johnny Lucero Duarte 80, of Clovis, NM, formerly of Steagall , passed away on Tuesday June 25. Visitation was held on Sunday, June 30, from 1p.m. to 3 pm at Chapel of Angles, 1430 Thornton Street Clovis, N.M. Rosary was held Monday, July 1, 8:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 921 N Merriwether In Clovis, N.M. Interment was at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E Llano Estacado. In Clovis, N.M. Pallbearers: Colton Duarte, Landon Duarte, Jonathan Duarte, Aaron Lopez, Patrick Duarte, and Paul Quilantan Johnny, was born on March 1, 1944, to Jose Antonio Duarte and Victoria Lucero Duarte in Carlisle, TX. He married the love of his life Frances Chavez Cantu in Morton, TX, on September 21, 1968. Johnny worked for Buffalo Farms for 28 years. He moved to Clovis NM and worked for the Clovis Municipal Schools. Later, along with his wife, he started Professional Glass Cleaners a window washing and janitorial business. He enjoyed painting, singing, fishing, shooting guns, cooking out, and dancing. most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.

Survivors: Children: Johnny “JJ” Duarte (wife Joy Bell) of Ennis, TX; Denise Lopez (husband Leo Lopez) of Clovis, NM; Nick Duarte of San Antonio, TX brother: Ray Duarte of Portales, NM Grandchildren: Colton Duarte, Landon Duarte, Jonathan Duarte, Kathryn Duarte, Victoria Duarte, and Adrienne Lopez Great grandchild: Heidi Duarte Preceded in death: Spouse: Frances Chavez Cantu Duarte Parents: Jose Antonio and Victoria Lucero Duarte brothers: Mike, Steve, Vincent, and Bonnie Duarte sisters: Mary Nino and Gina Molina.
