Hockley County Grand Jury returns indictments

The 286th Judicial District Attorney’s Office announced that a Hockley County Grand Jury convened on June 26, and considered cases against 13 individuals.

After presentations by the District Attorney’s Office and law enforcement, the Grand Jury returned 12 indictments.

Christina Maria Garcia, 39, was charged with the burglary of a building.

On or about May 12, the defendant knowingly entered a building without the effective consent of the owner and committed theft of property, namely a crowbar and a car battery.

David Allen James Harris, 21, was charged with aggravated assault causing serious bodily injury.

On or about April 21, the defendant intentionally caused bodily injury to an individual by repeatedly hitting the individual in the head with his fist causing a serious injury.

Don Leon Rodriguez, 25, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one 1-B, less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $1,000.

On or about March 29, the defendant knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount less than one gram.

Nathaniel Vidales, 26, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one 1-B, between four grams and 200 grams.

On or about March 28, Vidales knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of more than four grams but less than 200 grams.

Tami Marinelarena, 31, was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1-B, between four grams and 200 grams.

On or about March 22, the defendant knowingly possessed with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams.

Angel Moreno Chavez, 48, was charged with sexual assault of a child and prohibited sexual conduct. Bond was issued in the amount of $50,000.

Hanna Nichole Humpreys, 23, was charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1-B, between four grams and 200 grams and abandoning or endangering a child individual with imminent danger or bodily injury. Bond was issued in the amount of $7,500.

On or about March 22, Humpreys knowingly possessed with the intent to deliver a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams.

A second count states, on or about March 22, the defendant recklessly and with criminal negligence engaged in conduct that placed a child younger than 15-years-of-age in imminent danger of death, bodily injury or mental impairment. The act was done by exposing the child to controlled substances in the motor vehicle in which the child was a passenger and the defendant did not voluntarily deliver the child to a designated emergency infant care provider.

Johnny Resendez, 50, was charged with tampering or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair and the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one 1-B, less than one gram. Bond was issued in the amount of $1,000.

On or about March 29, the defendant knowing that an offense had been committed, namely possession of a controlled substance, concealed, altered or destroyed methamphetamine with the intent to impair its availability as evidence in any subsequent investigation or official proceeding related to the offense.

Additionally, on or about March 29, the defendant knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount less than one gram.

Pauline Sanchez Hernandez, 42, was charged with the possession of a controlled substance penalty group one 1-B between one gram and four grams and tampering or fabricating physical evidence with the intent to impair. Bond was issued in the amount of $2,000.

On or about March 30, the defendant knowingly possessed a controlled substance, namely methamphetamine in an amount more than one gram but less than four grams.

Additionally, on or about March 30, the defendant knowing that an offense had been committed, namely possession of a controlled substance, concealed, altered or destroyed a small bag of methamphetamine with the intent to impair its availability as evidence in any subsequent investigation or official proceeding related to the offense.

Enhancements included in the indictment state the defendant had been convicted on or about August 21, 2006, in the 286th Judicial District Court in Hockley County for the felony offense of possession of a controlled substance penalty group two, more than one gram but less than four grams. The enhancements also state the defendant was convicted for the felony offense of driving while intoxicated third or more in the 286th Judicial District Court in Hockley County, on or about May 7, 2008.

Roman Miguel Jimenez, 21, was charged with indecency with a child sexual contact. Bond was issued in the amount of $35,000.

On or about November 12, 2023, the defendant had the intent to arouse or gratify the sexual desire of the defendant with a child younger than 17-years-ofage.

Roman Miguel Jimenez, 21, was charged with the assault of a family or house member by impeding breath or circulation.

On or about September 16, 2023, the defendant intentionally and recklessly caused bodily injury to a member of the defendant’s family by impeding the normal breathing or circulation of the blood by applying pressure to the throat or the neck and, or blocking the nose or mouth of the complainant.
